AI-BN2019July is always a very busy month in our Irish dancing calendar with 2 majors taking place, the All Ireland Championships and the British National Championships.

The month kicked off with the All Ireland Championships, taking place at City West, Dublin. The All Ireland Champiomships are organised by CRDM and all the teachers in attendance help to make the event a success. We travelling to Ireland with our Freddy who was dancing to defend his title, having won the All Ireland Championships in 2018.

As always, he was an absolute professional and danced fabulously to retain his title for a second year running. We cannot put into words how proud we are of this young man, especialy given circumstances at the time. Congratulations to our brave young man!

Just a week later, we were gearing up for the British National Championships 2019, taking place in Kent UK and was organised by CRDM UK (the committee was headed up by none other than our own TC, Liz).

Over the course of the day, our dancers were out in force in both the Championship hall and the Grades halls. We had a huge amount of dancers take part in their first ever prelims, alonng with our opens dancers improving on their placements from the previous year.

Also, the amount of team work from our entire class was astounding! As Liz was heading up the event, it left little to no time for her to be where she would have loved to have been most...... with our dancers, but she didn't need to worry. The whole class came together to support each other and our dancers. To have a school spirit and community like we have at Ellis-Parr is really something special and we have to thank each and every parent and dancer for that. You guys really are the best!

The results from the day were fantastic. All our grades dancers came away with medals and trophies, which were well deserved and a fab way to end the competitive year. And our open dancers didn't disappoint with their results either.

Now is it time to start our summer break and enjoy a well deserved rest! See you in September x
