celticchamps17The Celtic Championships is one our most local competitions and naturally we had a busy weekend of dancing! We kicked off the weeekend with our U7, U8 and U9 beginners - Lacey, Hayden, Ania and Amy! the busy morning and early start for our little gang was well worth it with their fab dancing brining home lots of tophies and medals for them.

Our tiniest jiggers, sisters Shaney 3yrs and Georgie 18 months, followed them by taking to the stage in the Walkers Competition. This is a lovely competition to encourage our baby dancers to get used to going on stage before entering the Beginners categories. Our girls had a great time jigging around to the music and were awarded with trophies for their dancing too! Also, our Georgie was featured in the newspaper for her dancing as she was the youngest dancer in the over the whole weekend.

Libby and Natalia danced in the older Begginers groups and the good results just kept on coming. Libby winning out of Beginner B for most of the solos and Natalia winning her first every Beginners Cup!

Last but not least on Saturday, we had Freddy and Orla competing in the Open age groups. Both danced brilliant and the results showed this with Orla placing 2nd in the U12 Open Championship and Freddy placing 2nd in the U10 Open Championship and 2nd in the U12 Boys Championship.

Moving onto Sunday, we had our golden oldies competing in the Open Age groups. After an afternoon of fab dancing, our girls did us proud with great results all round. Lucia placed 3rd in her U20 Championship, Jessica 2nd and Michaela 3rd in the Senior Championship and Emily was the U16 Celtic Champion!

Well done to all our dancers - results like these really shows that hard work does pay off!
